Global Solidarity
September 30, 2008
“Here comes Ray,” said the secretary as Jeff Ray, my partner in the quest for global solidarity, came walking down the corridor. The look on his face was not good. “What’s the matter, Jeff?” I asked as he came in. Jeff grimaced, and then spoke. “New conflicts in the east side of Los Angeles. Report said something to do with anti-globalization activists”. We both knew what that meant. Our quest for global unification was coming to a standstill, since people were polarized on the issue of whether there could be a United Earth. The economists and entrepreneurs on one side said it was possible, and we believed that it would be easy, given the right resources and cultural conditions. The activists, on the other hand, believed that any unification of the planet was species treason, and they worked hard behind the scenes to make sure we failed. There was only one thing left to do, short of global thermonuclear war. It was time to smear the opposition.
